BLS Instructor (Healthcare Provider/Heartsaver)

Lifesaver Associates is proud to provide instructor courses of the highest quality.  As an American Heart Association Training Center, our team of experienced instructors teaches the latest standards in providing life-saving training.

The American Heart Association's mission is to reduce disability and death from heart disease and stroke. Our Training Center faculty will teach new students how to instruct CPR classes for the healthcare provider, layperson and also how to teach CPR with first aid to the community.   This course gives the experienced CPR provider the opportunity to learn how to teach and evaluate CPR skills. The course outlines what and how to teach; it is not designed to teach basic CPR skills.  The prerequisites for this course include a current Heartsaver or Healthcare Provider CPR card and completion of the Core Instructor Course (this portion must be completed prior to attending the course).

 Instructor Course Components

  Core Instructor Course (CIC):

The Core Instructor Course is a multi-media tool designed to provide a foundation for teaching and facilitating regardless of an instructor candidate’s area of interest and specialization. This course provides consistent and uniform instructor training, eliminating material that is repetitive across the various disciplines, with the goal of creating more effective ECC instructors.

Discipline Specific Module (DSM):

The Discipline Specific Module will take place at our training facility and uses a combination of various instructor-led and video based lessons, in addition to the resuscitation team concept. This latter concept gives the instructor candidate the opportunity to practice teaching the dynamics of responding to resuscitation as part of a team in simulated cases with the emphasis on effective communication and teamwork.
